Removing the Crosshair
You can turn the crosshair off in the Options, but it also turns off all other identification icons, which makes zeroing in on things you want a little more frustrating, and identification of items that can be freely taken a bit of a crap shoot.
Nimski's great mod removes the crosshair only, leaving the other ID icons working. Installation is as simple as extracting an .xml file into your Oblivion/Data folder. Instructions are included with the download.

Shrinking The Crosshair
If you don't mind the crosshair, but just wish it, AND the Sneak Icon, were a bit smaller, Cerasine's Size Reduction mod might be just what you need. It reduces the crosshair and sneak icon by about 60%.
Installation is a simple extraction to the Oblivion/Data folder. Instructions included with the download.

Replacing The Crosshair
Want a blue crosshair, or a red one? Here's few alternate crosshair designs and colors offered by Blackhawk. Installation involves extracting a few folders and renaming the particular file you want to use. All the crosshairs below are in the ZIP. If you are already using a mod that alters the HUD in other ways, you will have to make a small change in the included .xml file. Full instructions included with the ZIP file.
